What can I read here?
This blog is a collection of my thoughts, insights and observations on a wide range of topics. Some of it may be related to work, but most of it will be based on what I come across at school or in my spare time. Here’s a little disclaimer in the form of a quote:
Opinions are like assholes - everyone’s got one and they all stink.
That includes mine, and I very much live by that quote. I’m well aware of the irony in sharing my thoughts on a blog, but what the hell. In the end, what I write here is not just for you guys, but also for me, so if you get bored, feel free to catch up on the latest catvideos.
Please don’t take everything I write here too seriously, but maybe some lost soul can find valuable information here, or perhaps a chuckle, in that case that’s fine by me. Now let me tell you a little about myself…
Current occupation
I am currently employed as a Junior System Engineer at tecITec. I administer Office365 tenants, and due to Microsofts admin portals failing on a regular basis, I try to automate as much as possible using PowerShell. Obviously, using code to solve problems is also a lot more fun and quicker in the long run.
Additionally, I am studying computer science at ZHAW and am currently in the 4th semester.
Interests and hobbies
I spend most of my spare time either with a silly home it project or cook something up in the kitchen. I am running my own Plex server, play around with docker containers on my Synology NAS and keep a basic Unifi network running.
Cooking
I absolutely love cooking. I like to try new recipes every once in a while, or just experiment myself, but a well prepared home cooked meal is one of the best things in life. Here are some dishes that I prepared recently, with the star of the show being my all time favorite lasagne bolognese.
Skiing
When time and the weather allows it, I also like to go skiing during the winter. It’s good exercise with spectacular views like the one in the picture below from Pizol, and it’s a nice way to escape the yearly winter depression in Zurich.
